Aaron M. Moyer is an associate in the firm's Labor & Employment Practice Group. Aaron represents employers in a broad array of employment-related matters, focusing on litigation in state and federal courts brought by employees and former employees as well as providing general advice and counseling.
Litigation. Aaron has litigated a diverse range of employment-related lawsuits. Aaron represents employers in enforcement of restrictive covenant agreements, including in actions for injunctive relief. He also regularly defends employers against lawsuits and administrative complaints alleging violations of Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, the Pennsylvania Human Relations Act, the New Jersey Law Against Discrimination, and various other federal and state laws governing employee rights.
Counseling. Aaron counsels employers on a variety of issues, including individual employment issues, wage and hour issues, policies and procedures, handbooks and terminations. He also regularly drafts and reviews severance agreements and assists with employment-related matters in corporate transactions.
Representative Litigation Matters. Aaron, working with other members of the firm, has:
· Obtained injunctive relief and damages against a former executive who breached his non-competition agreement by leaving to become CEO of a direct competitor;
· Represented a national staffing company against claims of disability discrimination by a former high level employee, which settled on favorable terms following extensive discovery;
· Obtained a favorable ruling on appeal to enforce an arbitration agreement against claims brought by a current employee; and
· Obtained dismissal of a tort claims brought by a former executive of a hospital and ultimate dismissal of entire action following minimal discovery and motion practice.
In General. Aaron earned his J.D. from Vanderbilt University, where he was Order of the Coif, an editor of the Vanderbilt Law Review and a moot court board member. He received his B.S., summa cum laude, in business management from Grove City College. During law school, Aaron interned for the Tennessee Supreme Court and U.S. Magistrate Judge Joe B. Brown.
Aaron is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
