Adam J. Wiensch is a partner with Foley & Lardner LLP and a member of the firm's Estates & Trusts Practice, as well as the Sports Industry Team. His practice is concentrated on advising clients on wealth creation, protection and transfer techniques, including sophisticated wealth transfer techniques; business succession planning; estate and trust administration; marital property law, including pre- and post-nuptial agreements; retirement and executive compensation plans; charitable giving strategies; adversarial proceedings with the IRS and state taxing authorities on estate, gift, generation-skipping, and income tax matters; and representation of fiduciaries and beneficiaries in will contests, trust construction, and surcharge cases.
Mr. Wiensch is a graduate of Georgetown University, where he received his B.S. in foreign service (international economics) in 1985 and his J.D., magna cum laude, in 1991. During law school, Mr. Wiensch served as the senior articles editor of The Georgetown Law Review and was elected to the Order of the Coif.
Mr. Wiensch has been Peer Review Rated as AV® Preeminent™, the highest performance rating in Martindale-Hubbell's peer review rating system and in 2005 was elected a fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel. He was recently selected by his peers for inclusion in the current edition of The Best Lawyers in America® in the field of trusts and estates. Mr. Wiensch was also selected for inclusion in the 2005 through 2011 lists of Wisconsin Super Lawyers®. In addition, Mr. Wiensch has been named one of the Top 100 Attorneys in the United States by Worth magazine. Mr. Wiensch is a member of the Estate Planning Forum and the Partnership For Philanthropic Planning (formerly Planned Giving Council of Eastern Wisconsin). He also belongs to the Milwaukee State Bar Association, the State Bar of Wisconsin, and the American Bar Association.
Mr. Wiensch is involved in many pro bono activities, including regularly advising charitable organizations on issues related to estate planning and planned giving.
