ADRIENNE E. MARTING is a Partner in the Health Law Practice Group in the firm's Atlanta office. Her health care practice focuses primarily on regulatory and litigation matters.
Ms. Marting represents a number of hospitals, home health agencies, ambulatory surgery centers, physicians, rehabilitation centers, and other health care facilities and providers before administrative agencies and state and federal courts.
Ms. Marting regularly:
· Assists clients and their consultants in preparing certificate of need applications, determination requests, and analyses of competing applications, and litigates these matters through the appeals process
· Revises medical staff bylaws and related policies, and helps train new medical staff leaders
· Represents hospitals and physicians in peer review matters involving delineation, limitation, or termination of clinical privileges and medical staff appointments
· Advises clients regarding licensure, accreditation, reimbursement, and medical staff credentialing matters (including confidentiality, immunity, and reporting issues relating to the National Practitioner Data Bank)
· Represents physicians in professional review actions before state licensing boards
· Represents hospitals and other related providers in connection with compliance, survey and enforcement under the Emergency Medical Treatment and Active Labor Act (EMTALA)
Prior to law school, Ms. Marting was a medical technologist in the blood bank of Shands Hospital in Gainesville, Florida, and at the American Red Cross in Washington, DC.
Ms. Marting lectures on a variety of healthcare topics, including confidentiality of medical records, EMTALA, and credentialing and peer review issues. She serves as President of the Lakeside High School Orchestra Association.
