Alan Abes is a Partner in the Litigation Department and Chair of the firm's Recruiting Committee. Alan's experience includes commercial and contractual disputes, class action and individual consumer litigation defense, and insurance consultation and litigation. He practices in federal and state courts in Ohio and throughout the United States, including courts of appeal such as the Ohio Supreme Court. Alan also has a governmental law practice through which he represents political subdivisions and counsels corporate clients in dealing with those entities. In the last several years, Alan has litigated cases involving disputes over asset purchase deals, large supply contracts, corporate policies and procedures, indemnification claims, exclusive sales territories, consumer debt, and first and third party insurance coverage. Alan obtained judgments or dismissals in many such cases. Mindful of his clients' need for cost control and effective risk management, Alan also has extensive experience in preventative lawyering, effectively managing litigation, and mediating or otherwise resolving cases.
