Alan is the Managing Partner of the firm, and practises in the areas of labour law, administrative law, and employment litigation including human rights; employment standards; collective agreement arbitration and British Columbia Labour Relations Board and Canada Labour Relations Board dispute resolution, mediation, and wrongful dismissal. He provides legal advice to employer groups in both federal and provincial sectors, and has recently provided advice on retail food sector principals in respect of response strategies to union organizational drives; labour relations implications of mergers in the telecommunications industry and first collective-agreement strategies in various sectors.
Alan is recognized as one of the Leading Lawyers in Canada in the field of Labour by LEXPERT and American Lawyer Media. Alan has made presentations to a variety of labour relations organizations, including the Human Resources Management Association ("HRMA"), the Continuing Legal Education Society, in addition to conducting various client seminars and management training sessions. He is a member of the Vancouver Bar Association and various employer human resource associations.
