A member of the firm's Healthcare, Life Sciences & Pharmaceuticals group, Albert is a certified public accountant who practiced with a “Big Four” public accounting firm in Dallas, Texas, before beginning his legal education. This background in accounting and tax compliance, coupled with more than 15 years in private law firm practice advising a variety of clients (with a particular emphasis in the healthcare industry), gives Albert a particularly strong foundation to counsel clients and arrive at solutions in complicated corporate and tax matters without dependency on multiple lawyers.

Albert has represented hospital districts, large hospital systems, physician groups of all sizes and practice specialties, management companies, and nonprofit healthcare organizations in a variety of corporate merger and acquisition transactions. He has also helped counsel small startups in the vibrant Austin entrepreneurial community and is a regular speaker at Austin's Relationship & Information Series for Entrepreneurs (RISE) program - a weeklong series of seminars and events that draws thousands of small businesses for advice and discussion.

He has particularly significant and specialized expertise in the nonprofit, tax-exempt organizations area, having handled virtually all aspects of tax and transactional matters for the healthcare industry. He has applied for and received tax-exempt status for dozens of organizations and has been a frequent writer on the topic for national publications, such as the Wolters Kluwer Exempt Organization Reports.

Before joining Husch Blackwell, he was a Partner at Brown McCarroll.
