Overview
Alexander Burakoff is an Associate in our real estate group who works on a broad range of matters for real estate developers. Alex counsels clients in connection with complex real estate transactions, including acquisitions, joint ventures, financing and leasing of all types of commercial properties.
Prior to joining the firm, Alex served as a Judicial Intern at the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts, for the Honorable Morris E. Lasker and the Honorable Joyce London Alexander. He also worked at a national law firm where he participated in the negotiated resolution of complex legal disputes. Additionally, Alex worked as a Staff Attorney in the Consumer Rights Unit at Greater Boston Legal Services, where he represented borrowers attempting to avoid foreclosure. Alex successfully assisted borrowers in obtaining loan modifications and negotiated the rescission of an unlawful foreclosure.
Representative Experience
· Representation of nationally recognized REIT in office leasing for properties located in central business districts of major metropolitan markets.
· Representation of a national real estate investment firm in connection with the $112.5 million acquisition of a multi-family apartment building.
· Representation of a national real estate investment firm in connection with the $285 million acquisition of a first-class office building.
· Representation of a national real estate investment firm in connection with the acquisition of a fourteen (14) property portfolio consisting of 8.2 million square feet of office buildings located throughout the United States.
· Representation of a national developer in connection with the joint venture, financing and acquisition of a shopping mall.
· Representation of a national developer in connection with the acquisition of a Massachusetts shopping center site, including securing construction financing for the development project.
