Alexina Jackson is an associate in the Washington, DC law office of Crowell & Moring LLP. She joined the firm in 2007 as a member of the Government Contracts and Technology, Media, and Telecommunications practice groups. Alexina has specialized her practice in Government Contracts with particular attention to litigation and intellectual property rights. Alexina joined Crowell & Moring from University of Maryland School of Law, magna cum laude, order of the coif.
Alexina has litigated a variety of claims against the government, including conversions of terminations for default into terminations for convenience and equitable adjustments. She has also defended government and qui tam False Claims Act matters. Alexin was a member of the litigation team for one of the largest firm matters involving an indemnification claim against the government for environmental pollution. She has litigated matters in a variety of fora, including Federal appellate and district courts and Boards of Contract Appeals.
Alexina married her Government Contracts and Technology, Media, and Telecommunications practices by counseling government contractors on the intellectual property rights unique to contracts with the United States government under the FAR and DFARs. Her experience includes analysis of contractor and government rights retained under specific contracts and preparation of general educational materials for presentation to contractors. She has also evaluated contractor obligations to deliver technical data and potential infringement of IP rights in performance of government contracts.
Alexina's pro bono efforts enable her to hone her litigation skills and realize her commitment to the advancement of women and immigrants in the community. She has litigated criminal matters in state court and secured immigration rights for victims of violent crime through USCIS and immigration court.
Through the firm's Women Attorneys' Network Steering Committee, Alexina is able to realize her commitment to the advancement of women at Crowell & Moring and the larger legal community. She has organized presentations for the partnership on topics such as effective evaluations and bias, and acted as moderator on panels including discussions of topics such as self promotion. She has participated in the American Bar Association's Women in Law Leadership Academy. Her commitment to the advancement of women began in law school through clinical programs and selection as a Rose Zetzer Fellow for Women's Leadership and Equality.
Prior to her legal career, Alexina worked in New York, Brazil, Spain, and France as a strategy consultant for a multinational firm. Alexina worked in various industries as a consultant, but garnered significant experience in telecommunications, technology and strategic industry development.
