About this office: The firm was established in 1961 with the combined effort and professional experience of Eduardo Alfaro, Alejandro Ferrer S. and Alfredo Ramirez. Today, through a mixture of experienced partners and associates, the Firm offers a wide range of legal services to an extensive list of distinguished domestic and international clients. Alfaro, Ferrer & Ramírez has a well-established leadership position in labor and employment law, and it offers seminars to trade associations and entrepreneurs to update them on current developments in this area of law. Similarly, it has a very important position in the area of intellectual property law, where it has gained market recognition through its highly committed incursion in this area of law and its participation in some of the most important associations in the field. The Firm also engages in the formation and maintenance of Private Interest Foundations and Corporations, and provides estate planning services for its clients. Alfaro, Ferrer & Ramírez also has vast experience in banking law. It served as legal advisor to the Presidential Commission in charge of drafting the new banking legislation and recently advised the Superintendency of Banking in connection with the regulations to the new law under an Interamerican Development Bank program. The Firm has been actively involved in the recent wave of privatization and has gained recognition in the fast growing areas of telecommunications and energy by advising clients in both the public and private sector.
