Mr. Anthony, a shareholder with Wilentz, Goldman & Spitzer P.A., has been working with the Mass Tort/Class Action Team since 1993. He has concentrated his practice in the area of environmental contamination, chemical exposure, asbestos exposure, pharmaceutical torts, and products liability litigation. These types of cases typically involve claims for personal injury, wrongful death, property damage, medical monitoring and loss of quality of life. His cases involve exposure to all types of chemicals including volatile organic compounds, heavy metals and chlorinated hydrocarbons.
Mr. Anthony set legal precedent in New Jersey by certifying the first toxic exposure personal injury and medical monitoring class action in 1994. The settlement of this action resulted in a 30-year medical monitoring program for people who played on a chromium contaminated ball field in Jersey City. He also received the Association of Trial Lawyers of America Outstanding Achievement Award for his work on behalf of 427 Pompton Lakes residents in an environmental contamination suit against DuPont, which resulted in a $38.5 million settlement in 1997. Mr. Anthony has also worked on several other large environmental contamination suits as well as individual chemical exposure cases with very successful results. Mr. Anthony was nominated for the New Jersey State Bar Association Young Lawyer of the Year in 1996 and 1997. In 2006, he received the NJBIZ Forty Under Forty award and New Jersey Rising Star Award. He was selected for inclusion in New Jersey Super Lawyers from 2008-present and in New Jersey Best Lawyers in America list from 2010-present. He has also appeared on numerous television and radio programs discussing pollution and chemical exposure cases.
Mr. Anthony is a member of American Association of Justice, New Jersey Association of Justice, the AAJ Benzene Litigation Group, and the Middlesex County Bar Association. He also serves on the Livingston Planning Board.
