Alfred Zaher concentrates his practice on patent, trademark and trade secret litigation, licensing, and counseling. He has extensive experience representing clients before U.S. courts, the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, and the U.S. Copyright Office. His experience includes:
· litigating patent, trademark, and trade secret matters before the U.S. district courts and the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit
· counseling on patent infringement, validity, and enforceability opinions and related issues
· managing large U.S. and international patent and trademark portfolios globally, with a specialization in protection in China (PRC)
· counseling and managing major technology transfer and procurement transactions
· licensing and negotiating biotechnology, medical device, electronic, and software licensing transactions
· technology due diligence investigations
Prior to entering the practice of law in 1994, Mr. Zaher was a research engineer with more than 10 years of technical experience. Since then Mr. Zaher has become an experienced litigator, counselor and negotiator working with Fortune 500 and mid-size companies in biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, electronics and software. His practice is concentrated on patent, trademark and copyright infringement, trade secret misappropriation, and related areas. He has a strong entrepreneurial approach to the practice of law focused on effective and efficient representation to accomplish and further his clients' business goals.

Mr. Zaher is a Fellow of the American Bar Foundation, and a regular member of and speaker at several intellectual property organizations, including the American Intellectual Property Law Association, Licensing Executive Society, and China Bio Conference. In addition, Mr. Zaher is co-chair of the firm's Diversity Committee, Chair of the firms LGBT Affinity Group, and a member of the firm's Partner Board.
