Alicia Grahn Jones concentrates her practice in the area of trademark clearance, prosecution, and litigation. Ms. Jones has substantial experience representing clients before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board in opposition and cancellation proceedings and in federal district courts in trademark infringement matters. Ms. Jones also helps clients determine the availability of trademarks, develop and implement appropriate trademark registration programs, monitor and enforce trademark rights, and prosecute trademark applications before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
Ms. Jones currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Georgia Association for Women Lawyers. She is a member of the Intellectual Property Section of the Georgia Bar Association and the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics. Ms. Jones has been recognized as a Georgia "Rising Star" in the area of Intellectual Property in 2012 by SuperLawyers magazine.
Ms. Jones is the Chair of the firm's Associate Communications Committee and serves as a member of the firm's Diversity Committee. She was a recipient of the 2004 Georgia Association of Women Lawyers Scholarship. Ms. Jones earned her J.D. from Emory University School of Law. Ms. Jones received her Bachelor of Arts from George Washington University, where he graduated cum laude in Political Science.

University of Kansas v. Larry Sinks, et al., Successfully represented University of Kansas in a trial against JoeCollege.com, a retailer selling various apparel using colors and other indicia of the University. Obtained award of attorneys' fees.

Texas Tech Univ. v. Spiegelberg, Represented Collegiate Licensing Company in litigation to protect the school colors and verbal trademarks of a Texas-based university. The firm's motion for summary judgment resulted in the court finding liability as a matter of law, and also awarding more than $3 million in damages and attorneys' fees.

Counsel to the Collegiate Licensing Company, one of the top sports licensing firms in the U.S., Represented the Collegiate Licensing Company (CLC), one of the most successful licensing companies in the United States. CLC is the exclusive licensing agent for nearly 200 colleges, universities, conferences and bowl games. The firm serves as the only law firm advising CLC on its trademark matters and, as a result, manages the trademark portfolios of more than 50 colleges and universities represented by CLC. In addition to managing the portfolios of CLC and its University clients, the firm also provides brand equity counseling and has represented numerous university clients in trademark infringement and anti- counterfeiting matters. The firm also advises the company's related entity, CLC International LLC, in connection with international clearance, brand management, enforcement, and contentious proceedings.

Established in 1982, The Weather Channel provides information through a wide variety of wired, wireless and broadcast media in the fields of weather, recreation, health, travel, traffic and other areas, and reaches hundreds of thousands of households in the United States and abroad.
Grandparent adoption, Represents caregivers seeking to adopt children. One of the firm's signature pro bono programs is the Grandparent Adoption Program. Dozens of lawyers have been trained to represent grandparents and other relative caregivers who step up to raise young children in their extended family when the children's parents are unable or unwilling to do so. Working in partnership with local legal aid programs, lawyers accept referrals of eligible families, and prepare and file the required documents to effect the adoption. Hundreds of children's lives have been stabilized as a result of the firm's involvement.

Trademark and copyright advice for Flowers Foods Inc., Represents Flowers Foods Inc., a leading producer of baked goods, and its subsidiaries in various trademark, unfair competition, false advertising, and copyright matters, including litigation before federal district courts and the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board, as well as trademark clearance and registration projects.
Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University v. Hokie Real Estate Inc., Successfully defended Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (Virginia Tech) in trademark infringement litigation against Hokie Real Estate, a real estate agency that adopted a maroon and orange color scheme in their advertising and business cards. The defendant filed a number of counterclaims alleging fraud on the trademark office and trademark misuse. The court granted Virginia Tech's motion to dismiss the counterclaims on sovereign immunity grounds. Case subsequently settled on favorable terms.
