    Biography

    Allan is a Member in the firm's Boston office, where he practices in the Real Estate Section and is a member of the Construction Law Practice Group.

    Allan has experience in all aspects of residential and commercial real estate, including acquisitions and dispositions, finance, development, construction, and leasing. He has represented local, regional, national and international developers, lenders, landlords and tenants in a broad variety of residential and commercial real estate transactions.

    Recent projects include:

    · Represent investor in assemblage, financing, and acquisition of a 250+ acre site to be developed for a wind farm.

    · Represent a consortium of national landlords and tenants in connection with local, state and federal regulatory incentives related to sustainable and "green" building, operating and construction practices.

    · Represent a state institution and its subsidiary in connection with the permitting and construction of a biologics manufacturing, filling, and distribution facility in Boston.

    · Represent client in connection with the permitting, financing and acquisition of paper manufacturing facilities in multiple states.

    · Represent national owner and operator of assisted living facilities in connection with a $325 million recapitalization.

    · Represent national owner and operator of health care facilities in connection with its exercise of a $100 million increase in its credit facility.

    · Represent developer in connection with the acquisition, assemblage, permitting, financing, construction and development of real estate throughout Boston and the Greater Boston area, including a 250-unit waterfront residential condominium complex and a 50+ unit portfolio of apartment buildings in Boston's South End, North End and Back Bay.

    · Represent foreign investors in connection with the acquisition of a marina and restaurant on Cape Cod.

    · Represent various property owners in connection with the permitting, construction and management of billboards in Boston and other jurisdictions throughout Massachusetts.

    · Represent various property owners, developers, restaurant owners, landlords and tenants in negotiating architect and construction contracts and procurement agreements.

    · Represent national hospitals and health-care providers with acquisitions and dispositions of their facilities.

    · Represent landlords and tenants of varying sizes in leasing transactions and construction contracts for office, laboratory, manufacturing, industrial, telecom and sale-leasebacks, including representation of a multi-billion dollar REIT in connection with its acquisition and leasing of office and industrial space nationally.

    In 2009, 2010, and 2011, Allan was recognized by his peers as a Massachusetts Super Lawyers "Rising Star," in a listing published as a special supplement to Boston Magazine.

    Allan currently serves as a member of Mintz Levin's Central Training Committee and is active in recruiting and interviewing new attorneys for the firm. Allan also serves on the Business Advisory Council for Boston College Law School and is a former member of the Board of Directors for Suffolk University's College of Arts and Sciences. Active in politics, Allan has worked for two Massachusetts Governors, has been an advisor for various local, state and federal campaigns, and has co-founded an associate political fundraising group and forum at Mintz Levin.

    Allan is admitted to practice in Massachusetts. He earned his B.A from Suffolk University and his J.D. from Boston College Law School.
