About this office:
The roots of this Allens Arthur Robinson office go back to 1846, when Robert Little, a lifetime friend of George Wigram Allen, son of the founding Allen, settled in Brisbane and created a law firm.
As Feez Ruthning, the firm became one of Brisbane's leading commercial legal practices, merging with Allens in 1996.
Our Brisbane office has a particularly strong basis in Natural Resources, Infrastructure, Property Development and Corporate work, and a powerful track record in advising the State Government.
Our recent experience includes:
- advised the Queensland Government on the sale of the Enertrade gas business for A$268 million, and the sale of its wind assets for A$460 million;
- advised the Queensland Government on its A$3 billion electricity asset sales, the largest reform and asset sale project in Australia during 2006/07;
- advised the Queensland Government on the development of the A$200 million Burnett Water infrastructure project;
- advising the Queensland Department of Main Roads on all aspects of the State's largest-ever road project, the A$1.6 billion duplication of the Gateway Bridge and upgrade of 20 kilometres of the Gateway Motorway;
-acted for Ensham Resources in their successful A$20 million claim against Ken Foots in the Southern Cross Mine Management case.
