About this office:
Our Melbourne history goes back to 1906, when Arthur Robinson established Arthur Robinson & Co in Collins Street.
The firm established quickly a reputation for excellence in corporate reconstructions, liquidations and receiverships. We've also been involved in establishing some of Australia's largest mining projects, such as the giant iron ore mines in the Pilbara and the natural gas reserves on the North West Shelf.
Our recent experience includes:
- advising the Macquarie Bank-led consortium on its $A2.2 billion acquisition of the global Dyno Nobel businesses;
- acting for ExxonMobil in relation to various aspects of the multi-billion dollar PNG Gas Project;
- successfully defended landmark proceedings in the High Court in which the CFMEU sought redundancy pay from Amcor for employees who would retain employment following the sale of the PaperlinX business;
- acting for McGrathNicol+Partners in their capacity as voluntary administrators of various companies in the ION Group. ION is one of the biggest car part manufacturers in Australia;
- acted for the financiers to the successful Connect East Consortium on the A$2 billion Mitcham-Frankston Tollway under construction in Melbourne;
- official law firm to the 2006 Commonwealth Games in Melbourne.
