As a law student, Dr. Antons received the Robert and Clytia Chambers Award in Patent Law and served as a legal writing teaching assistant. She also completed an externship at the Office of the Solicitor at the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
Dr. Antons earned her Ph.D. in Microbiology & Immunology from Vanderbilt University and defended her thesis titled "Differentiation Pathways of Human Regulatory T Cells and Their Role in HIV Infection." As a graduate student, her research was supported by a predoctoral training fellowship from the National Institute of Health. She received her Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Biochemistry from Iowa State University.
