| Biography | Amy Wright began working as Bill's associate in 2005, after fourteen years of practice in other settings. Her area of focus for the past ten years has been family law, with an emphasis on cases involving family violence and child abuse. She served for two years as a Clinical Professor at the University of Texas School of Law's Domestic Violence Clinic (1999-2001), and three years as the Executive Director of the Women's Advocacy Project, a statewide legal nonprofit specializing in family violence and sexual assault (2001-2005). She also spent six years in private practice (1993-1999), handling family law cases as well as other types of litigation. Amy currently serves on the Texas Supreme Court's Protective Order Task Force. She has provided legal expertise to a variety of public policy organizations involved in family law concerns, and has written and presented extensively. She was a 1991 Order of the Coif graduate of the University of Texas School of Law, and served as an editor of the Texas Law Review, and as law clerk to both the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit and the Texas Supreme Court after becoming licensed in 1991. Amy recently began work toward certification in financial planning, as a complement to the firm's work on divorces involving complex financial concerns. She also drafts pre- and post-nuptial property agreements, and supports the litigation work of the firm.
