Background
Amy Davison is a partner at our Vancouver office and her practice focuses on construction and banking litigation. Amy was admitted to the British Columbia Bar in January 2005. She graduated from the University of British Columbia with a Bachelor of Laws Degree in 2003, where she was the Law Society Gold Medallist. Prior to attending law school, Amy obtained a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English Honours from the University of British Columbia in 2000.
Amy is fluent in French.
Areas of Practice
· Amy works in the area of construction litigation, with a focus on surety work, homeowner warranty claims and construction deficiency and delay claims. She also works on franchise litigation matters, general contractual disputes, and fraud and anti-piracy proceedings, including Anton Piller work and commercial arbitrations.
Professional Experience
· part of the legal team that has successfully obtained, executed and upheld several Anton Piller Orders against defendants engaged in satellite piracy
· led one and assisted in several rectification proceedings to amend transactions and/or agreements with adverse tax or corporate consequences
· assisted on several applications to strike out vexatious debt protest proceedings, and assisted in obtaining special costs awards in favour of the financial institution defendants
· acted as Independent Supervising Solicitor for Anton Piller raid on film distributor
· completed a term as a Judicial Law Clerk with the Supreme Court of British Columbia in 2003-2004
