Andrea practices with the firm's Creditors' Rights & Bankruptcy practice group. Her practice and experience concentrates mainly on commercial loan restructurings, commercial litigation, and commercial bankruptcy matters, including the representation of financial institutions, unsecured creditors committees, and corporate debtors. Andrea's practice and experience also includes areas of real estate law including federal and state law receiverships, foreclosures, and redemption rights.
Andrea earned her law degree in 2007 from the Cumberland School of Law at Samford University, where she served as a Senior Honor Court Justice and Judge Abraham Caruthers Fellow. While in law school, she was a member of Women in Law and Street Law. Andrea received her bachelor's degree in Equestrian Science from William Woods University, which is located in Fulton, Missouri. Before completing her undergraduate studies at William Woods, she attended Auburn University where she was a forestry major and interned at the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service. Prior to attending law school, Andrea worked in a variety of fields, including teaching at the former Warrior High School located in Warrior, Alabama.
Andrea is a member of the Alabama State Bar and the Birmingham Bar Association. Currently, she serves on the Executive Committee of the Birmingham Bar's Bankruptcy and Commercial Law Section. She is also a member of the American Bankruptcy Institute and the International Women's Restructuring and Insolvency Confederation. She participates in the Birmingham Volunteer Lawyer Program, and she serves on the Junior Board of Special Equestrians, Inc., which provides therapeutic horseback riding and equine assisted activities/therapies to persons with physical, mental, developmental, and emotional disabilities. Recently, Andrea was chosen to participate in the Birmingham Bar Association's 2011 Future Leader's Forum.
