About this office: Originally founded by Andreas Coucounis, the firm is now in its second generation of lawyers. The Corporate and Tax Department advises foreign clients on the incorporation, use and tax treatment of Cypriol companies, establishing the firm's expertise in multi-jurisdictional corporate and investment projects in Europe and Asia. The Property Law Department offers a comprehensive, all-round advice to many foreign clients who want to invest in real estate on the island, and deals with the administration of estate. The Litigation Department has a solid reputation in effectively representing clients in debt recovery, securities, personal injury and matrimonial claims. The firm's Corporate and Shipping Department boasts being the legal advisors to the first shipping company's successful IPO and flotation on the Cyprus Stock Exchange. The firm's partners have published a book on Immovable Property Law as well as an invaluable collection of 9 Volumes of Rent Control Case Law, covering a period of more than 20 years. They are members of the International Bar Association (IBA), of the Association des Jeunes Avocats (AIJA) and of the Society of Trusts and Estate Practitioners (STEP). The firm has acquired over the years special expertise in litigating cases for securing the issue of separate title deeds for properties bought on the island, winning landmark cases in court in July 2006 and October 2007.
