Andrew Collingwood is a partner in our Real Property & Planning Group in Toronto.
Mr. Collingwood practises in the area of business law with a particular emphasis on public-private partnerships, project development, construction, acquisition and disposition of commercial property, secured financing and commercial leasing.
Significant representative projects include:
· advised Infrastructure Ontario and Halton Healthcare Services on their DBFM PPP development project;
· advised Halton Healthcare Services in respect of complex cost-sharing matters related to their hospital development project;
· advised Infrastructure Ontario and Humber River Regional Hospital on their DBFM PPP development project;
· advised Infrastructure Ontario and Women's College Hospital on the DBFM PPP redevelopment of their hospital facilities;
· advised Infrastructure Ontario and the Ministry of Community Safety and Correctional Services on a new Forensic Services and Coroners Complex facility and on an Ontario Provincial Police multi-facility DBFM PPP project;
· advised Infrastructure Ontario and Bridgepoint Hospital on a project for the design, build, finance, maintenance and lifecycle repair and renewal of a new 10-storey building for patients with complex chronic disease in Toronto, Ontario;
· advised Bridgepoint Health in respect of complex land exchanges with the City of Toronto related to Bridgepoint Hospital's redevelopment project;
· advised Infrastructure Ontario and its Co-Sponsor Hospitals on the Toronto Rehabilitation Institute and Kingston General Hospital Build Finance construction Projects;
· advised major nuclear power generator in development of construction contracts;
· advise York University Development Corporation in respect of all aspects of its leasing matters at York Lanes Mall;
· acted on behalf of national fast food chain in respect of its leasing matters across Canada;
· acted on behalf of Wilfrid Laurier University in respect of its acquisition and ownership of its student residence at its Brantford campus; and
· acted on behalf of St. Michael's Hospital in respect of its development of the Li Ka Shing Knowledge Institute.
Prior to joining the firm in 2007, Mr. Collingwood practiced real property law at the Toronto office of another national law firm.
Mr. Collingwood received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from McGill University in 1995 and his LLB from the University of Western Ontario in 2000. Mr. Collingwood is a member of the Canadian Bar Association and the Law Society of Upper Canada. Mr. Collingwood is also a member of the Construction Law Section of the Ontario Bar Association.
Mr. Collingwood was called to the Ontario bar in 2002.
