Biography

Andrew J. McBride joined Adams and Reese in 2010 following the firm's expansion into St. Petersburg. He has been practicing law since 2009 and is an associate in the firm's Transactions and Corporate Advisory Services Practice Group.

Andrew's diverse litigation practice focuses on banking, commercial, bankruptcy, construction, and community association litigation.

In his practice, Andrew has:

• Litigated multi-million dollar loan and foreclosure actions on behalf of institutional and private clients;
• Represented property owners in Fair Housing Act and State and Federal law discrimination claims;
• Litigated adversary proceedings in Bankruptcy Court;
• Litigated numerous contract, real property, and complex commercial law matters;
• Appeared before the Florida Public Service Commission in rate case actions;
• Represented property owners in administrative investigations and actions;
• Represented property owners in landlord-tenant disputes and evictions.

Andrew earned his J.D., magna cum laude, from the Florida State University of College of Law where he graduated in the top 10% of his class, served as an Associate Editor and member of the Florida State University Law Review, and served as a member of the Journal of Transnational Law and Policy. Following graduation Andrew was inducted into the Florida State University Chapter of the Order of the Coif. Andrew earned his B.A. in History from Seattle Pacific University.

Andrew is a co-author of an article appearing in the May, 2013 American Bankruptcy Institute Secured Creditor Newsletter titled Secured Lenders, Beware: Recent Bankruptcy Decision Exposes the Danger in Relying Solely on a Prior Recorded Satisfaction of Lien and the Need for Proper Due Diligence. Prior to practicing law, Andrew served with the Florida Department of Financial Services where he was involved in insurance agent licensing disputes.

In the community, he is an active member of the St. Petersburg Bar Association, St. Petersburg Chamber of Commerce Young Professionals, and the Suncoast Chapter of the Community Associations Institute.

In his spare time, Andrew enjoys international and domestic travel, college football, and spending time with his wife and children.
