In addition, Andrews Kurth has advised clients on implications of Section 301 provisions of the U.S. Trade Act and the World Trade Organization's procedures for enforcing intellectual property rights.

Most recently, Andrews Kurth successfully represented one of several international respondents in defending allegations of patent infringement involving laminated flooring products in a Section 337 proceeding before the International Trade Commission. After a full hearing and extensive briefing on patent validity and infringement issues, the Administrative Law Judge found no infringement of the patents by Andrews Kurth's client. On appeal, the full Commission affirmed the decision in its entirety in March of 2002.
In the areas of antidumping and couinterveiling duties, Andrews Kurth's Washington attorneys have experience in matters before the International Trade Commission involving steel, industrial chemicals and computer equipment on behalf of numberous foreign importers from Asia and elsewhere.
Andrews Kurth has advised a State organization of the Norwegian government with respect to enforcement practices under Section 301 in connection with import licensing restrictions, labeling and certification requirements, subsidies, and bidding procurement practices.
In addition, Andrews Kurth's attorneys have counseled Chilean companies and organizations with respect to free trade and fast track form trade agreements, and have advised clients with respect to dispute resolution under the World Trade Organization's Agreement on Trade-Related Aspects of Intellectual Property Rights (TRIPS).
