| Biography | Angel J. Berbarie received her bachelor of science in political science from Texas A&M University, graduating cum laude, and as a member of the Golden Key Honor Society. She then went on to earn her juris doctorate from the University of Houston. In addition, she became a certified mediator through the A.A. White Dispute Resolution Institute. While attending law school, Angel was the charter secretary of the Texas Aggie Law Students Association, and she has now become a member of the State Bar of Texas and its sections in Family Law and Alternative Dispute Resolution. Angel is also a member of the Dallas Bar Association's family law section, the Dallas Association of Young Lawyers, the Texas A&M Century Club, and the Dallas A&M Club. Angel successfully briefed and argued new and complex interstate jurisdictional issues in the Fifth District Court of Appeals, resulting in a step-parent gaining custody of her step-children in the case In re S.J.A., 272 S.W.3d 678 (Tex.App.-Dallas, 2008).
