Angi Whittaker-Pion's practice focuses on litigation involving multiple parties, multiple claims, and allocation of liability among related corporate entities. She is actively involved in the day-to-day mass torts defense nationally for a publicly traded manufacturing client - coordinating discovery, company witnesses, documents, and trial preparation. She has conducted many forensic product-line investigations relating to claims arising out of products manufactured many decades before, often by divested or now non-existent companies. Angi defends asbestos-related personal injury and wrongful death suits, as well as mass torts alleging occupational exposure to silica, benzene, nickel, lead and perchlorate. Outside the products liability area, Angi's practice encompasses a range of complex civil matters, including nationwide class action litigation and business disputes. In addition to her litigation experience, she represents clients before the Consumer Product Safety Commission in connection with corrective action plans (recalls), civil penalties and reports and investigations under the Consumer Product Safety Act.
Angi also represents policyholders (including large publicly traded and privately held companies) in insurance coverage and/or insurance-related disputes. She conducts forensic insurance coverage investigations, locating lost insurance policies or secondary evidence of coverage issued many decades ago. Angi represents and advises policyholder clients on insurance coverage issues relating to asbestos, silica, mold, and other indoor air quality issues arising out of liability and first-party policies.
