The firm was formed in 2007, when Jaime Angeles and Zaida Lugo merged their practices, to enhance the scope and depth of services to their national and international clientele. Both partners also have a strong commitment to academics and community, which they demonstrate as adjunct law professors, authors and private sector legal advisors to the government on legal reforms, starting with the 1997-1998 Commission on Order Market Code (Antitrust, Unfair Competition, Industrial Property, Copyright and Consumer Protection) and, subsequently, DR-CAFTA (Free Trade Agreement with United States and Central America), Computer Crimes Law, E-commerce and Digital Signatures Law, Presidential Rule on Copyright, and two pending bills on commercial advertising and films.
