As a litigator and accredited mediator, she has significant experience in dispute resolution. She has handled a number of high-profile employment cases relating to dismissal of senior executives, payment of discretionary bonuses and commissions, breaches of restrictive covenants, misappropriation of confidential information, team moves, sexual harassment, and gender and disability discrimination. She also represents corporate clients in Commissions of Inquiry to inquire into the conduct and management of public bodies and the conduct of public officers.
Anita also has extensive experience in handling highly sensitive discrimination and harassment complaints made to the Equal Opportunities Commission, including sexual harassment complaints involving senior executives, pregnancy discrimination complaints relating to performance assessments, gender discrimination concerning indigenous villagers’ rights, disability discrimination complaints relating to bonus payments, disability vilification complaints, and disability discrimination relating to transgender issues. She also assists clients in conducting internal investigations including multi-jurisdictional investigations relating to discrimination and harassment.
On the data privacy side, Anita regularly assists clients in dealing with privacy complaints and compliance checks conducted by the Privacy Commissioner. She also advises extensively on personal data issues in Hong Kong, particularly in relation to issues such as mini bond complaints, use of CCTV, data access requests, direct marketing and use of data processors.
