Biography

Anne-Marie was born in New York City but grew up primarily in Virginia. She is a graduate of Middlebury College, after which she served as a U.S. Peace Corps volunteer in Thailand. Anne-Marie then graduated cum laude from Vermont Law School, where she was a Notes Editor for the Vermont Law Review.

Anne-Marie's practice areas include Employment and Labor Law, Workers' Compensation Law, Legal Education for Clients, and Mediation and Arbitration.

She serves on the Board of Governors of the Maine State Bar Association as Vice-President and is a member of the Maine Supreme Judicial Court's Advisory Committee on Maine Rules of Evidence.

She currently serves as a member of the Board of Directors of the Bangor Humane Society, the Maine Discovery Museum, and the Bangor Region Chamber of Commerce. She is also a member of the Maine Supreme Judicial Court's Advisory Committee on Maine Rules of Evidence and the Board of Overseers of the Bar's Professional Ethics Commission. She has served as Chairperson of the Maine Middlebury Alumni Association and as a member of the Bangor Historic Preservation Commission.

She is a frequent speaker to human resource professionals and other groups on employment related topics, and regularly contributes articles to various business-related publications. She lives in Winterport with her husband, John Hamer, and their St. Bernard, Madeline.
