Ariel Z. Breitman is a partner in our Litigation Group in Calgary. His practice focuses primarily on corporate and commercial disputes involving both public and private companies engaged in inter and intra corporate matters. He has appeared at all levels of the Court process as well as in arbitrations, mediations and alternative dispute resolutions and has been involved in regulatory matters pertaining to the pharmaceutical and oil and gas industries.
Mr. Breitman has represented and advised brokerage houses (Peters & Co.), financiers (Robert Friedland, Erin Mills), pharmaceuticals (Apotex Inc.), franchisors (Dominos's Pizza), manufacturers (Sun Ice, Nike), oil and gas producers (Rigel, Mobil, Archean, Oxbow), investors (CN, Olympia & York) and real estate developers (Royop, Tonko, Paragon) on a myriad of corporate disputes relating to hostile acquisitions, shareholder oppressions, corporate liquidations, royalty and oil/gas leases, securities enforcement, product liability, trademark infringement and tax appeals.
Mr. Breitman is a member of the Canadian Bar Association and the Law Society of Alberta.
He received a B.Sc. in 1974 and his LLB in 1977, both from the University of Manitoba. He was called to the Manitoba bar in 1978 and the Alberta bar in 1981.
