Mr. Adams has a diversified litigation and appellate practice and has handled numerous complex litigation matters. He has extended knowledge of class action litigation and punitive damage matters. Before becoming counsel to the firm, he served as a U.S. Court of Appeals judge from 1969 to 1987. His professional and civic leadership has been evident throughout the length of his distinguished career, and in 2001, Susquehanna University created the Arlin M. Adams Center for Law and Society at Susquehanna to honor his many achievements. The University of Pennsylvania Law School and the Annenberg Foundation established the Arlin M. Adams Professorship on Constitutional Law in his honor in 2005. Areas Of Experience Governmental Service In 1995, Mr. Adams was appointed by the court as trustee in the New Era bankruptcy case, the largest nonprofit bankruptcy in history at that time. Earlier, he was appointed by then-Gov. Casey as chair of the commission investigating the prison riot at Camp Hill. Thereafter, he served as the Chapter 11 Trustee in the Coram Healthcare Corporation successful reorganization in the Bankruptcy Court in Delaware. He also served as a member of the Judicial Nominating Commission and was a member of the board of the Federal Judicial Center. He was secretary of public welfare for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania from 1963 to 1966. Investigatory Appointments From 1998 to 2002, Mr. Adams served as independent counsel in regard to the investigation of the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). In 1994 to 1995, he conducted an investigation of the Pennsylvania attorney general for alleged criminal activity and for Fox Chase Cancer Center for allegations of improper medical research. He has served on many other investigatory panels and counsel appointments.
