Mr. Natali has represented Fortune 50 corporate policyholders in complex insurance coverage actions for nearly two decades. He has handled multi-state, multi-site environmental declaratory judgment actions, coverage actions related to asbestos bodily injury and property damage claims, and insurance coverage claims for breast implant liabilities. Mr. Natali served as lead and co-trial counsel in a number of these coverage matters. He also has counseled numerous clients in mediations and arbitrations. As a result of his representation, Mr. Natali's clients have recovered insurance proceeds in excess of one billion dollars.
Litigated victories include trial verdicts on the expected or intended defense, fraud and rescission defenses and trigger of coverage issues. Mr. Natali also has extensive experience with regard to complex allocation issues including the allocation of liabilities between general liability and environmental impairment insurance policies. He has lectured on allocation related topics as well as issues related to self-insured retentions and deductibles. Mr. Natali has recently co-authored a book chapter entitled Settling Commercial Litigation: Negotiating, Drafting and Enforcing Agreements to Resolve Business Disputes. He is AV-rated.
Mr. Natali has successfully litigated numerous commercial matters including a multi-million dollar domestic arbitration related to the working capital of a divested business. He has also served as lead counsel in an international arbitration conducted pursuant to UNCITRAL rules related to FDA approval of a medical device.
Mr. Natali also defends manufacturers, retailers and distributors of a wide variety of industrial and consumer products in bodily injury and property damage claims. He has served as a member of a national counsel team managing asbestos and breast implant litigation for various defendants in federal MDL proceedings and various state-coordinated proceedings. Responsibilities included active defense of underlying litigation and managing outside counsel. He also tried to verdict pleural, asbestotic, mesothelioma and lung cancer cases in the largest asbestos trial in New Jersey history.
Mr. Natali was recognized in the 2004 issue of New Jersey Law Journal's "40 Under 40." He is recognized as a New Jersey Super Lawyer for 2005-2012 editions and is also listed in the 2006-2012 issues of The Best Lawyers in America. He was also recognized among the Top 100 lawyers in the state by New Jersey Monthly magazine.
Mr. Natali has also appeared pro hac vice in courts in other states, including state and federal courts in Massachusetts, New York and Texas.
