| Biography | Art practices in the Florence and Myrtle Beach offices. He graduated from LSU with a B.S. degree and from the University of South Carolina School of Law in 1984 where he was a member of Law Review and Wig and Robe. Art has been with Turner Padget his entire career, and has concentrated in employment law, professional liability, and complex business litigation most of that time. Art has substantial experience in defending employers in all types of discrimination suits, in the defense of accountants, attorneys, physicians, and other professionals, defense of officers and directors, and defense of products liability suits. Much of his trial work in complex cases has been in Federal Court. He regularly counsels more than 40 employers on general employment laws and issues. Art provides counsel to physician practices and hospitals on exclusive practice agreements, medical staff by-laws and Fair Hearing plans. He has been retained on a number of economic development matters, having represented both new and expanding businesses as well as governmental entities on economic development incentives and agreements. Art is a certified arbitrator and mediator and has built a substantial ADR practice, primarily in mediating large, complex matters. Speeches/Presentations/Awards: Over 40 presentations since 1988 including "S.C. Wage and Hour Update"; "Employment Laws and How They Affect Your Supervisory Duties"; "Model Employee Policies for S.C.
