Ashley practices in the firm's Litigation section and represents management in all areas of labor and employment law. She handles all aspects of federal and state court litigation involving discrimination, harassment, wage and hour, family and medical leave and other employment related issues. She also represents employers in investigations and proceedings by governmental agencies such as the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the Department of Labor, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration and the National Labor Relations Board. Ashley has also handled appeals to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit and the Supreme Court of Alabama. Ashley is a member of the American Bar Association, the Alabama State Bar and the Birmingham Bar Association. She serves on the Executive Board of the Women Lawyers Section of the Birmingham Bar Association and as Chair of the Labor and Employment Section of the Alabama Bar Association. She is also a Vice-Chair of the Employment Law and Litigation Committee of the TIPS Section of the American Bar Association. Ashley is also a member of the Birmingham Business Journal's 2007 class of "Top 40 Under 40" honorees and a recipient of the 2006 "Best of the Bar" award in the Labor & Employment category. She was named as a "Rising Star" in the Alabama Edition of Super Lawyers Magazine for 2010. Ashley also serves on the Firm's Diversity, Marketing, Recruiting and Employee Benefits Committees. Ashley received her B.A., summa cum laude, from Auburn University and her J.D., magna cum laude, from the University of Alabama School of Law. During law school, she was an editor for the Alabama Law Review and a member of the Order of the Coif. She also received the Hugo L. Black Scholar Award and the Dean Leigh Harrison Award for academic achievement.
