Asya is an Associate in the firm's Corporate & Securities Section. Her practice focuses on transactional work, including public offerings, mergers and acquisitions, and venture capital financings. She provides counsel to clients with respect to compliance obligations under the Securities Exchange Act of 1934 and corporate governance matters. Asya also advises public and private companies with regard to general corporate matters.
During law school, Asya interned at the Office of Tax Policy Analysis of the Massachusetts Department of Revenue, where she researched and analyzed various aspects of taxation law.
Asya is admitted to practice in Massachusetts and Wisconsin. She earned her B.A. in economics, summa cum laude, with high honors, from Brandeis University (1998), where she was a member of Phi Beta Kappa and of the Omicron Delta Epsilon International Honor Society in Economics. She received her J.D., cum laude, from Cornell Law School (2001) and was awarded a John M. Olin Foundation Student Scholarship in Law and Economics, the Peter Belfer Memorial Prize for the greatest proficiency and insight in federal securities regulation and related laws, the George J. Mersereau Scholarship, and the CALI Excellence for the Future Award. Asya also served as an editor for the Cornell International Law Journal, which published her article "Bankruptcy Law, An Economic Medicine: How Russia's new bankruptcy legislation facilitated the recovery from the nationwide financial crisis of August 17, 1998."
