| Biography | Professional Experience Dane Dudley is a partner in the Individual Clients Department and is resident in the firm's West Hartford office. Dane advises individuals regarding their domestic and international estate planning and related tax and nontax issues, including succession planning for family businesses and planning for family members with special needs. Dane also represents individuals and professional fiduciaries in the administration of complex estates and trusts. Dane received his B.A. cum laude from Williams College and his J.D. cum laude from Boston College Law School. He is a fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel, is listed among The Best Lawyers in America in trusts and estates, and was recognized as a Connecticut Super Lawyer in the area of trusts and estates. Dane has lectured at the University of Connecticut School of Law and has spoken at programs sponsored by the Connecticut Bar Association, the Boston Bar Association, and other professional and community groups. He has written for Trusts & Estates, Probate & Property, The Practical Lawyer, Financial Planning, Connecticut Law Tribune, Connecticut Bar Journal and Legal Times, and has addressed planning issues in The Wall Street Journal, Forbes, and other publications. Dane works with clients all over Connecticut, Massachusetts, and New York. Dane is currently on the board of trustees for The Amistad Center for Art & Culture and is a past president of the board of governors for the Hill-Stead Museum. He is a member of the Estate & Business Planning Council of Hartford, Inc. Dane lives in Wethersfield, Connecticut with his wife, Susan (a "retired" estate planning lawyer), sons Kevin and Jack, and daughter Kate. He enjoys spending time with his family, movies, traveling, and sports.
