Babak Lalezari is an associate in the Los Angeles office of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher. He practices in the firm's Litigation Department and its Appellate and Constitutional Law Practice Group. He represents clients at federal and state appellate and trial court levels. Prior to joining Gibson Dunn, Mr. Lalezari served as a law clerk to the Honorable Mary M. Schroeder of the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.
Mr. Lalezari graduated summa cum laude from the University of California, Los Angeles, where he received his bachelor's degree in Psychology with College Honors and graduated Phi Beta Kappa. Mr. Lalezari received his Juris Doctorate from Loyola Law School. He graduated magna cum laude and Order of the Coif in 2008. During his time at Loyola Law School, Mr. Lalezari served as Chief Symposia Editor of the Loyola of Los Angeles Law Review, as teaching assistant to Professor John T. Nockleby, and was a Sayre MacNeil Scholar.
Mr. Lalezari currently teaches a course on appellate advocacy at Loyola Law School. His most recent publication, "Domestic Violence: Enough is Enough, Any Force is Enough," is published in the Phoenix Law Review. He is a member of the Los Angeles County Bar Association, the Iranian-American Bar Association, and the Federal Bar Association, and is admitted to practice law in the State of California, the United States District Court, Central District of California, and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.
