Federal
In Washington, through its subsidiary B&D Sagamore, the Firm offers a federal relations practice with the essential depth of experience and capabilities to rival any firm in the nation's capital. The Firm offers a full spectrum of federal governmental services, with special emphasis in complex legislative matters. With its experience in legislative drafting, lobbying, and analysis, the Firm has effected the passage of scores of amendments and laws on behalf of its clients.
Indiana
During recent legislative sessions, the Firm played a principal role in legislation on telephone deregulation, tort reform, and property tax measures; represented the state's largest public school system on education reform and finance issues; and actively participated in shaping legislation affecting the health care and insurance industries. The Firm assisted other clients in obtaining government funding for projects totaling millions of dollars. In addition to specific engagements, the Firm actively monitors legislation for its clients to advise them of potential opportunities or pitfalls.
In addition to its legislative practice, the Firm actively represents clients in matters before the executive branch. Team members have significant experience with state and federal administrative agencies, advising clients on rulemaking, adjudicatory proceedings, or other agency actions. The Government Affairs Team works closely with other practice groups in the Firm on matters before the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission, the Indiana Department of Transportation, the Department of Revenue, and the Alcoholic Beverage Commission, to name a few.
