Barbara A. Ruth practices in the areas of federal, state and local taxation, with particular emphasis on income tax compliance and planning for estates, trusts, nonprofits, individuals, corporations and partnerships. She also devotes her practice to litigation consulting services, including criminal and civil tax controversies, damage measurement and marital dissolution. Prior to joining Duane Morris, she was associated with a local accounting firm.
Ms. Ruth is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA) and the American, Pennsylvania and Philadelphia bar associations.
Ms. Ruth is a published author of articles on tax matters and a speaker at tax-related programs. She is a contributing author to the firm's Tax Accounting Review, a tax and financial newsletter for clients of the Tax Accounting Group. She has served as Treasurer of several local non-profit organizations. A graduate of the Dickinson School of Law, she holds a bachelor of science degree in accounting from Millersville University.
