Estate planning is not a "one size fits all" proposition. I strive to meet clients on their own terms, to assist in providing them information and devising a strategy to help them make choices about how to move forward with a plan. My job is to guide clients toward achieving goals that reflect their values and wishes. People who are in the midst of a health crisis or are facing a chronic or terminal illness also benefit from determining what is important to them during such challenging times.
Talking about disability and death isn't easy for most of us, but they are part of life. I focus my practice on estate and life planning, elder law, wills, trusts and probate matters and I offer mediation and facilitation services in those areas as well.
I take pride in my ability to work effectively and compassionately with people who are facing difficult decisions in their lives: grieving losses or mourning the death of a loved one; confronting a health crisis; or are mired in conflict with family members about the needed care for an aging parent or loved one. Some of the legal and mediation services I provide include:
Estate planning (wills, trusts, durable powers of attorney) for all types of individuals, couples and families;
Decedent estate administration;
Disability and succession planning for small businesses and solo professionals;
Elder law services for individuals and where appropriate, for families;
Representation in probate court for estate administration, trust administration and guardianship and conservatorship proceedings;
Dispute resolution services including mediation and family facilitation services for families facing conflict or otherwise exploring alternatives to litigation;
Disability (durable powers of attorney) and end-of-life planning for individuals and families; and
I take referrals from litigation attorneys for Mediation services in contested guardianship, conservatorship, estate and trust administration matters.
I love my work and I particularly enjoy working with a variety of allied elder care professionals to use, where I can, a "holistic" approach to estate and life planning.
