Practice/Industry Group Overview
Our School Law practice consists of providing a broad range of legal services to primary, secondary and post secondary public and private schools. Those services include public works financing, private financing, school law issues such as employee and student due process, constitutional rights, tenure, school board structure and policies, curriculum compliance, Title IX compliance, educational foundations, special education due process, joint services agreements, Open Door law, redistricting, referendum procedures and collective bargaining. In addition, our practice also includes those legal issues facing schools that are important to a successful school operation such as real estate, software licenses, equipment purchase negotiations, intellectual property rights, employee retirement and other fringe benefits, construction issues such as contract negotiation and specification compliance, "Common Wage" committees, outsourcing, labor relations, audits and athletics.
