Practice/Industry Group Overview
Barnes & Thornburg LLP's attorneys have experience in key areas such as business, intellectual property, technology, and telecommunications law. It is this understanding that positions our attorneys to provide technology-related legal services to a diverse group of clients ranging from individuals and small businesses to multinational corporations. Barnes & Thornburg's commitment to technology extends both to the services we provide for our clients and to the manner in which we provide those services. We continue to build on the foundation of key initiatives the firm established in recent years to better serve our clients in the new millenium.
First, the firm established the Business and Technology Group (BTech). BTech combines, in one multi-disciplinary team, experience in key areas to provide smart, responsive, and integrated solutions to the many legal challenges across a variety of disciplines. They include technology transactions, intellectual property protection, computer and software protection, Internet business and technologies, venture capital and public offerings, options and equity compensation, labor and employment, strategic alliances and business combinations, telecommunications, insurance coverage, government services and lobbying, tax, and litigation.
Today's increasingly global economy, together with Barnes & Thornburg's growth in regional, national, and international markets, has also demanded that Barnes & Thornburg maintain its leadership role in the use of information technology to meet its clients' needs. This demand spurred our second major initiative, which vastly improved the technological resources available to firm clients. Barnes & Thornburg's information and technology center supports a battery of litigation and legal software and databases from our offices in Atlanta, Chicago, Delaware, Indiana, Michigan, Minneapolis, Ohio, and Washington, D.C.
