Barry M. Epstein is a shareholder with Wilentz, Goldman & Spitzer, where he is co-chair of the Class Action Litigation Group. He is a certified civil trial attorney with more than forty years of experience as a trial and appellate lawyer. He has supervised and tried cases in numerous state and federal jurisdictions. Mr. Epstein has broad experience in commercial litigation, including Lanham Act (comparative advertising) claims, and technical and scientifically based drug and device product liability and toxic tort actions. He has served as national counsel to several pharmaceutical and medical device companies, including, defense of MDL mass tort litigations and class actions. His experience extends to criminal trials, including, defense of murder and conspiracy allegations. Mr. Epstein is currently plaintiffs' co-lead counsel in several class action litigations brought against health insurance companies for improper benefit determinations resulting in underpayments to subscribers.

He served as Law Secretary to Hon Edward Gaulkin, Judge, Superior Court of New Jersey, Appellate Division, 1962-1963. He was Chairman of Litigation at his prior firm (Sills Cummis Epstein & Gross) for many years. Mr. Epstein has published and lectured to trial lawyers and judges on scientific issues and the use of expert testimony in product liability and toxic tort cases and to prosecutors on effective jury presentations. He is co-author of a two-volume treatise: "New Jersey Product Liability Law," Butterworth Legal Publishers; "New Jersey Objections at Trial," Butterworth Legal Publishers; and Co-Managing Editor of "E-Discovery - A Guide For Corporate Counsel."
