Barsumian Law

Barsumian Law was established in 2010 by Todd C. Barsumian after practicing twelve years at the Evansville law firm of Kahn, Dees, Donovan & Kahn, LLP where he was a partner in the litigation section of the firm from 2006 through 2010. Todd enjoys the challenge of handling a variety of litigation. He strives to educate clients about the various stages of the litigation process so they can make informed decisions about their case. Because the ultimate outcome of any litigation is uncertain, Todd--a registered mediator in the State of Indiana--embraces alternative dispute methods to resolve cases when in client's best interest.

Todd has litigated civil cases in subject matters from unfair competition, trademark and domain name disputes about colors, logos and phrases between competitors in the advertising, financial, HVAC, fitness, real estate and trucking industries to breach of contract and fraud claims involving the authenticity of marginal notations claimed to have been made by Leonardo da Vinci to product liability cases involving asbestos, industrial machinery and consumer goods. Todd has represented the injured and those alleged to have injured others. Todd represented a severely injured child in a case that prompted a national recall of a product purchased off the shelf of a Tri-State retailer. Todd has used this experience to help represent the injured, as well as to counsel manufacturers and their attorneys on product safety and recall issues.

Todd has argued before the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals and the Kentucky Court of Appeals and has been appellate counsel in several important decisions. He has sought and defended against injunctions in state and federal courts, and tried numerous jury trials, obtaining a directed verdict in his most recent.

Todd is a former Board Member and Product Liability Chair of the Defense Trial Counsel of Indiana. He has presented at seminars on the topics of product liability, electronic discovery, experts and uninsured/underinsured motorist coverage.
