Ben L. Kessinger is a litigator whose practice has included the defense of product liability, insurance, legal professional malpractice claims. In the 55-plus years B.L. has lawyered, he has also handled business transactions, negligence and personal injury claims (both plaintiff or defendant) and railroad representations.
B.L. is one of the firm's eight Fellows of the American College of Trial Lawyers. He has also served as the president of the Kentucky Bar Association and of the Fayette County Bar Association.

B.L. was with the Lexington firm of Harbison, Kessinger, Lisle & Bush, which merged in 1984 with Stites, McElwain & Fowler, combining to form Stites & Harbison.

In 2004, Henry Clay High School named B.L. to its Hall of Fame in recognition of his many contributions to the Lexington community and of his professional achievements. In 1994, the Kentucky Bar Association selected B.L. as the "Outstanding Lawyer in Kentucky,"
