Benjamin Riskin's practice is concentrated in the area of financial restructuring, with an emphasis on cross-border restructuring and bankruptcy litigation. He represents clients in a variety of industries including finance, maritime freight, and steel production. His clients include global financial institutions, hedge funds, distressed debt investors, and foreign representatives in chapter 15 proceedings.
Prior to joining Cadwalader, Benjamin worked in marketing for Lambda Legal Defense and Education Fund. He remains dedicated to pro bono work for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender communities, and received a Certificate of Excellence in connection with his fundraising efforts for the New York-based Harvey Milk High School. Benjamin was named Empire State Counsel in 2011.
Benjamin received his J.D., cum laude, from Brooklyn Law School, where he was the Symposium Coordinator for the Journal of Law and Policy, and a B.A., cum laude, from The George Washington University. He is admitted to practice in the State of New York.
