Mr. Wieck concentrates his practice on class action defense of banks, mortgage lenders, and related entities. He defends class actions and individual suits involving myriad state and federal claims, including claims under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, Fair Housing Act, Equal Credit Opportunity Act, Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act, Truth in Lending Act, and the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, as well as claims for violations of state consumer protection statutes.
Mr. Wieck also has wide-ranging experience representing clients in complex commercial litigation matters in federal and state courts, including contract disputes, construction litigation, government and internal investigations, bankruptcy litigation, consumer fraud, white-collar crime, criminal defense, and regulatory matters. Prior to joining BWM&S, Mr. Wieck practiced in the litigation department at Jenner & Block LLP in Chicago.
Mr. Wieck graduated from the University of Illinois with a B.S. in Journalism in 2000. He received his law degree, magna cum laude, in 2006 from the University of Illinois College of Law, where he was elected to the Order of the Coif. During law school, Mr. Wieck served as an Associate Editor for the University of Illinois Law Review, competed on the invitational moot court team, and received the Rickert Award for Excellence in Academic Achievement. In addition, Mr. Wieck participated in the law school's civil litigation clinic, where he represented clients in family law matters.
