Biography

Bertha Alicia Ordaz-Aviles focuses her practice on transactional matters in the telecommunications, satellite and television sectors. She is experienced in the planning, negotiating and implementation of a wide range of transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, corporate and financial restructuring, satellite procurement, and contracts. Bertha also has experience representing foreign companies in projects concerning regulatory aspects of broadcasting services and pay TV services.

Bertha provides legal advice on general antitrust matters, representing clients in merger clearance procedures and investigations before the Mexican Economic Competition Commission.

Bertha has also been involved in research projects and teaching sessions in the areas of telecommunications, satellite regulation, broadcasting services regulation and economic competition for the Consejo de la Judicatura Federal (federal judicial branch), Instituto de Investigaciones Juridicas of the Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico (Juridicas UNAM), the Instituto Tecnologico Autonomo de Mexico (ITAM), the Universidad Iberoamericana and the Universidad Anahuac Mexico Sur.
