Ms. Yingling represents clients in federal tax exemption matters, as well as state tax exemption, fundraising compliance and nonprofit corporation issues under the New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania and Delaware laws.
She has extensive experience working with nonprofit and tax-exempt organizations, including their governance, organization, reorganization, public charity/private foundation status, affiliations and acquisitions, mergers and other transactional work. She has been personally responsible for filing numerous applications for recognition of exemption and IRS ruling requests for Section 501(c)(3) organizations and other types of tax-exempt organizations. She also has successfully defended IRS audits of exempt organizations, including on challenges to their executive compensation.
Ms. Yingling provides advice regarding charitable giving techniques. This includes advising individuals and business entities about the myriad ways of making deductible contributions to charitable organizations and assisting charitable organizations in their pursuit of donations.
In addition to advising nonprofit and tax-exempt foundations and other organizations, Ms. Yingling has served, and continues to serve, as a trustee of such organizations, including Hobart and William Smith Colleges, Friends Foundation for the Aging, Rosedale Cemetery and the McCarter & English Foundation.
