Legal Experience
· Second chair on trial team that obtained full defense verdict on behalf of Internal Medicine Physician in six-day medical malpractice trial
· Assisted in representation of Family Medicine Physician, Orthopedic Surgeon, and Neurosurgeon in medical malpractice cases that were resolved by summary judgment and/or voluntary dismissal
· Member of the trial team(s) that successfully settled numerous medical malpractice and negligence claims
· Medical malpractice claims have included allegations of wrongful death, failure to diagnose, failure to render timely treatment, improper surgery, decubitus ulcers, sepsis, improper prescriptions of medicines and improper administration of medicines
· Obtained summary judgment in premises liability case against allegations of orthopedic and neurological devices
· Defense in personal injury and premises liability cases alleging orthopedic injuries, including fracture and joint injuries, various neurological injuries, permanent disfigurement and permanent scarring
· Obtained complete defense verdict for national plumbing company at trial of lawsuit involving claims of breach of contract, negligent repair and failure to honor contract guarantee
· Obtained complete defense verdict for Pro Bono client at trial on rescission of contract claim, including statutory treble damages and attorney's fees under the Tennessee Consumer Protection Act, in lawsuit against car dealer and subsequently negotiated a settlement that was even more advantageous for client
· Obtained favorable settlement for large hedge fund on breach of contract claim against local commercial entity
· Successfully negotiated favorable settlement for national automobile/equipment manufacturer/seller against purchaser who defaulted on $100,000+ equipment purchase contract
· Successfully negotiated settlements for major national retail chain in numerous lawsuits alleging negligence
