Beverly G. Ellingson is a partner in the Vancouver office practising in the Real Property and Planning Group.
Ms. Ellingson practises in the areas of commercial acquisitions, sales, development and leasing. She also advises on construction disputes, lease defaults and builders' lien matters.
Ms. Ellingson has recently represented:
· a charitable society in its purchase of a portfolio of seniors' care and independent living facilities located in British Columbia and having a purchase price of over $100,000,000;
· a private company purchaser of a portfolio of industrial and commercial properties located in Ontario and having a purchase price of over $100,000,000;
· a public company owner of a chemical production, storage and shipping facility in northern British Columbia, negotiating the sale of those facilities, including negotiating long term contracts for post-closing supply and product handling services;
· a private company developer in its acquisition, development and sale and leasing of a 27 acre residential and commercial master planned community in the City of Vancouver;
· a private company purchaser in its acquisition of a one million square foot distribution centre building in the GTA; and
· a partnership in its acquisition of land and property rights for the development of a run of river power generation facility.
Ms. Ellingson appears in the 2012 edition of The Best Lawyers in Canada in the area of real estate law, and in the 2011 Canadian Legal Lexpert Directory, a guide to the leading law firms and practitioners in Canada, as a leading lawyer in the area of property leasing. She was also included in Lexpert's listing of "Canada's Leading Infrastructure Lawyers" published in October 2011. Ms. Ellingson has lectured on the topics of real estate development, acquisitions of seniors housing assets, mortgages and real estate conveyancing. She is a member of the Vancouver chapter of Commercial Real Estate Women (CREW) and on the Real Estate Committee of the Urban Development Institute (Vancouver).
Ms. Ellingson received her B.Comm. (Honours) from Queen's University in 1986 and her LLB from the University of British Columbia in 1989. She was called to the British Columbia bar in 1990.
